Outdoor solar lighting is an interesting and simple way for hospitality businesses to decorate their gardens and open air spaces. However, installing solar lights needs minor attention to optimize their use and performance. Being a hospitality outdoor furniture supplier, we feel the need not only to provide businesses with solutions, but also to contribute with the installation. So here are few tips to consider when installing outdoor lights:

Highlight garden beauties: Installing solar lights in the outdoor area can either be for practical use or for decoration. In both cases, benefit from the beauty of lights to create a charming ambience. How? Simply by highlighting the beautiful features of your garden. In other terms, if the purpose is to illuminate a path, make sure to do it in style. And if the purpose is to decorate, accomplish your goal by bringing out the objects that truly embellish your outdoors.

Avoid light obstruction: Outdoor solar lights are a great way to beautify your external areas. So make the best out of them by avoiding installing the lamps behind an object that reduces the light. Of course, you can do this if your main goal is to be more artistic. For example, when your objective is to create a specific effect from an illuminated tree or statue.

Maximize sunlight: Solar lights, just like the term reflectors, are lamps that do not require electricity wires and are charged from sunlight energy. Therefore, to optimize their use, make sure to install them in a place where they have direct contact with sunlight. Putting them in the shadow will reduce their timespan as the batteries will not be fully charged when they are most needed.

Clean the solar panels: Another way to increase the lifespan of outdoor solar lights batteries is to make sure that the panels are dirt-free. Soil and debris will act as obstacles and will forbid sunlight to fully fill the batteries, keeping them partially charged. In order to clean the solar panels, use dry cloth and warm soapy water to remove all types of stains.

Get creative: One of the main advantages of outdoor solar lights is that no electricity wires are needed. Therefore, they can be placed anywhere without worrying about installations. Hotels restaurants, and resorts should benefit from this by going creative while placing the outdoor solar lights. An appealing idea would be to install a few solar lamps near the swimming pool to create a unique milieu.

Following these tips helps hospitality businesses optimize the use of outdoor solar lighting and offering a unique experience for the guests.

So many people have stunning homes on the inside yet it is missing something on the outside. The lack of color, foliage, or pathway can make the front yard seem dull and dreary. A neat and beautiful front yard is attractive and welcoming to guests. There are easy ways to achieve a stunning pathway to the front door.

Pathways are extremely important when it comes to homes. People do not want to step on the grass in order to get to the door in case there is damp sand that gets stuck to their shoe. It does not need to be anything special but there has to be some kind of guideline.

People love the idea of walking between rose bushes or trees to get to their final destination. To the guest or the homeowner, that greenery can seem like a path to a sanctuary. In many fairy tales, a hidden cottage is found in the middle of a beautiful forest that can only be seen by a special person.

Be careful of creating paths or patterns in perfect geometric shapes. It may seem pleasing to the perfectionist but a person who has to take a turn at a sharp corner may simply cut across the grass because it would be easier that way. If you really want to keep people on the pathway, you can add a few leafy plants along the side of the walkway which will encourage people to remain on it and not cut across the grass.

You need this kind of pleasant atmosphere to lead the person to the front door. A door is a threshold that shows a person where the property of another person starts. An outsider who opens it with permission understands that they are welcome and it is important to make that person feel welcome. To achieve this, a door with sidelights or glass panels works perfectly. This is where you can experiment with perfect geometric shapes. Just like many houses have these same kinds of shapes so your door.

A good way to work with contrasting colored doors is by making the frame white which will oppose the color of the door which is mahogany or chestnut. This will add lovely character to your home and will not make the dark of the wood seem so intimidating.

These kinds of doors can be specially made by custom door manufacturers . Every home needs a bit of spunk that adds to the personality of the home owner. Starting with the outside is a good idea.

For large tree removal, removing them using a crane service is the right way to do it. When you use the traditional methods, they can be labor intensive and time consuming. With traditional methods, it can require rigging that is complex, avoid obstacles overhead, and have substandard results. Using crane services to remove the tree it will reduce how much time is required to remove the tree the traditional way. Crane services for tree removal has been around for years but in the past twenty years, this method of tree removal has become more popular.

Step 1

The crew that is removing the tree will need to survey the area when they arrive and during a meeting before they start work to determine where the crane set up will be. There are factors to take into consideration as to where it is to be set up such as overhead obstacles, space for the crane, grade / elevation changes, and the distance from the tree to the picking up and loading area.

Step 2

Once the crane is in the work zone safely, it needs to be leased out. There are five outriggers / stabilizers used to lift up the crane and support it while in operation. To ensure stability during operation it has to be level all the way round. The entire setting up process will normally take approximately thirty-five minutes.

Step 3

Every tree removal is different and requires a different ways to remove it. Before doing the tree removal the tree climber and crane operator will formulate a plan on how to remove the tree safely. They need to consider the growth pattern, and angle of the pieces, weight of the pieces being cut and area size where tree pieces need to be moved to. Before making the first cut the operator and climber has to estimate accurately the weight of each piece. The reason is that if the crane services operating capacity is exceeded the crane could turn over.

Step 4

The climber ties their support line to a place above the ball of the crane that is secure. They will be lifted to where the crane will be attached to the tree being removed. The climber will then climb down the tree and connect his security line to the tree to start the tree removal.

Step 5

When the tree is cut down the crew on the ground will cut the tree into certain lengths to be graduated so they can be sold to a sawmill. Pieces that are less than ten inches will go through the chipper for mulch. Once the tree has been removed and the tree cut or chipped the crane is unhooked and removed from the area.

2. They take care of their team members.

In small companies like these, the term family extends to everyone else in the staff who are treated with the same level of respect and kinship. This care translates to the level of care and guidance that they will in turn provide their customers.

3. They take time to know their customers.

Finally, small family-owned companies aim to build long-term relationships with their clients. They value the sense of community and go out of their way way to provide their undivided attention and superb assistance. Their clients, in turn, recognize the lawn care company's dedication to their customers and their craft, and are assured of a long and fruitful connection.

It is not always a popularity contest; customers will often choose the company that provides the best value and inserts in a positive relationship with their clients.

Trees In Spring

How do trees know that it is spring and time to start growing again? Surely they can not tell time and they do not have little calendars in their trunks, but each spring they seem to know that it's time once again to bloom, to grow bills and to grow the leaves back that fall the previous autumn. But how?

Trees are living things and as such have molecules and enzymes in them that signal the changes in season. The big thing about spring is that we have more sunshine and as sunlight is a very important thing to a tree, they are beginning to grow and bloom once again when they are getting more hours of sunshine each day. But it was warm and sunny that day in February you may say, that may be true, but it was not enough sunlight on a daily basis so not enough to tell the trees it was spring once again.

We can see the changes on the trees quite easily, they bud and new leaves start to grow, this is the main growing time for trees, as they look to reproduce. Experts say that this season is like a tree's adolescence as it is the main growing time. Trunk growth is something that happens through the summer months and root growth occurs in the fall and winter, but the prettiest part of all is in the spring.

Trees typically have two kinds of buds, the large ones that will one day become flowers and the smaller thinner ones that will one day will be the vegetation (the leaves). This all occurs quite fast in the grand scheme of things and during the summer we can reap the rewards of the fruit (if its a fruit tree) or look forward to picking up all the leaves once again come fall.

For trees to be lovely in the spring means that they have had a winter on them with temperatures between -5 and 10 C, this triggers a physiological reaction within the tree itself with the hormones and enzymes to allow the tree to be radiant once winter has ended.

Trees are beautiful things and are very adaptable. They give us shade, they give us privacy and they beautify our yards and parks. While we may not give them a second look, trees have a lot going on just benefit the surface and, like humans have their time to grow and develop.

Many home owners are overwhelmed with problems of proper drainage. When the heavy rains come their yards become lakes causing many issues such as grass and plants dying from too much water, water entering their homes through wet holes or other areas where there is access, and just not being able to enjoy their property until the water dissipates and even then it is a mud hole. These situations become tiresome and many of the owners look to contractors for a solution to fix the problem. In a perfect world where everyone is honest and all the people that have companies are experts in their field this would work out fabulous. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world and their landscaping contractors that either one do not know proper drainage techniques or two try to do the job cheaper because the customer wants a better price or the drainage contractor is trying to make more money. This article is to inform you so you will know the consequence and try to avoid them First and foremost you must have positive grade on your property meaning that if you are putting a drain system in your backyard then the backyard must be higher than where you want the water to drain (most of the time the street). How much higher the backyard needs to be depends on the length of the drain system due to have proper slope you must have one inch of drop per ten feet of drain pipe so if you are installing a hundred feet of drain pipe than you need the street to be ten inches lower than where you place the first drain box (Catch Basin). If you do not have the slope needed than this is when you must look in to other options such as bringing in soil and raising the backyard (only when you have enough foundation showing, you do not want to raise the ground higher than the foundation you need at least one inch showing at all times), draining into a pump pump box and pumping the water out (this option requires electricity and a much larger drain box where the pump will be located), and the final solution that I will mention is installing a series of 30 gallon landscape drainage basins and having the drains through the yard drain into them. The last option requires a hole twice the size of each drain drain that you will be installing because to ensure proper landscape drain you must install pea gravel around the drain basin so the water can see out.

These solutions are usually only used in worst case scenario situations but I wanted you to know the true options that are available that work. In most cases where there is a landscape drain problem and let's say there is only five inches of slope when you need ten inches a good drain expert can install a drain that will work by creating a slope from the back yard to the front then leveling out to the street because water that is level still flows but not as fast. They will also be able to incorporate your downspouts from your gutter into the system so that the head pressure (the water pouring down the downspout from the roof) will help push the yard drainage water out. These are options that a good drain contractor will be able to see, and then he will be able to let you know which drain option will work best for you.

Now let's say you have enough slope to do a regular drain system in your yard. The question than is what a regular drain system consist of? A regular drainage system consists of catch basins, fittings and pipe. Let us look at drain catch basins first there are many type of catch basins that drain contractors use and all but a few are in accordance with good landscape drainage practices.

One approved type is concrete basin which these are used in residential and commercial applications the residential will usually start out as 10 inches by 10 inches and normally have metal grates. They are well constructed but can be an eyesore in a beautiful landscape. Next you have the plastic drain basins these are made by a number of different companies and most of them are built to last a lifetime. These Drainage basins come in many different shapes and sizes but we would not suggest you go any smaller than 9 inches by 9 inches for the yard drain basins and 6 inch round for the garden drain basins. This type of landscape drainage basins are normally the ones used by the drain experts because they are more versatile and easier to work with. These drainage basins come with different grates (Tops) for different applications flat green grates for the grass and black flat grates for others in stone or flower beds. The grates also come in atrium grates which are grates that are built higher like a dome shape to allow water to flow if the bottom of the grate gets clogged. If you clean the grates after each storm there will be no need to install atrium drain grates as they are unsightly in the landscapes because of domed shape but you might want to consider them if using them directly in the flower beds to keep mulch from clogging drains. Some drainage experts but very few prefer to build their own catch basins out of brick and mortar this too is an acceptable practice and sometimes can be used to get slope on the pipe in cases where every inch counts because the slope of the land is very minute because this will allow the pipe to be raised to where they need it and a few inches at this point can mean the difference between a successful drain or unsuccessful drain. Always make sure that the drain contractor is using actual drain catch basins and not sticking a four inch grate on the end of a fitting.

This brings us to proper fittings to be used in backyard drainage systems. The more fittings used in a drainage system or as many know as French drains (which we will discuss in this article and more in-depth in a future article soon to follow) will slow down the water so an ideal system is using the least amount of fittings as possible. The fittings used in a drain system include a 90 ° long and short, 45 °, 22 ° °, Y's, and T's all these fittings come in different material for the different types of pipe which we will discuss next. Even though they sale short and long 90 ° 's the long 90 ° is the only one that should be used and is the only one a drain expert will use. I myself prefer to use two 45 ° separated so to slow the water flow as least as I possibly can. The suppliers also sell T's but they are not approved fitted in a lawn drain system unless they are being used as a clean out access which is only needed if you have an extremely long run without a drain basin for access. The Y's are the only proper fitting to be used by the drain expert to connect another pipe into the main drain system. All of the other connections can be used but always try to find the straightest route possible.

The Final material in a system which is also one of the most important is the type of drain pipe. There are several types of drain pipe that are used in drainage systems such as Schedule 40 (The thickest), SDR35 (The next step down), and Sewer pipe (Thin Wall), and corrugated pipe. The only two that are considered correct installation practice by the drain experts are schedule 40 and SDR35 all others are the cheap way out and come with expensive consequences later on. The SDR35 pipe is the norm and follows by all of the drain experts because schedule 40 is considered overkill. If you choose to do a drain system and not use the approved pipe a few years from now you may have to redo the whole system. The first of the unapproved options sewer pipe is thin and very easy to crack under pressure from roots or future digging. Once the pipe breaks dirt and roots can get into the pipe and cause the system to get clogged and no longer function as it should. Corrugated pipe which is a black flexible pipe can and will hold dirt in the ridges and after the years will get clogged with dirt slowing down or stopping the whole drainage system or another problem that can occur is a root can grow underneath it and since it is flexible will cause the pipe to raise and stop the flow of the drainage system. All of the above scenarios will cause the system to be dug up and redone which can become very costly.

Installing a drain system is a big project and one must research the correct procedures to pick a drain expert that will do it right the first time and stand behind its work. I pray that this article has helped you in your quest for knowledge so that you can be informed.

This time of the year is the perfect time for getting ready and organizing yourself for spring cleaning. Kids are busy with their play time on outdoor playground equipment and you can be free from worry by choosing the foam padding for playground surfaces to keep the little ones safe. So the month of February and the mild weather is the time for you to get rid of unwanted clutter from your house and the organization of the stuff that you wish to keep and the stuff you wish to give away. You can donate the unwanted stuff or sell it or throw it away if it's completely useless. But before that can be done, some sort of planning and preparation is needed. It can be a cumbersome task to wrap your mind around the classification and cleaning of the stuff at your home. It could also seem like a burdens with extra spillover costs of money and time. However, here are some of the ways to help you achieve this spring cleaning without any massive expenditure and without the mental pressure.

Make a schedule and stick with it

The first thing is to remember is to remain committed to the task. All you need is a cleaning schedule and then sticking to it for best results. Your schedule should be made to allow the de-cluttering of one or two rooms per month to allow you time and peace. This also makes the cumbersome task spread across all year which phenomenally reduces your work load and also allows you to stay mindful of your stuff.

Start with kitchen

To make matters easy, you should start with the kitchen. It is the most used room in the house and has the most clutter that needs to be cleaned. Sincemore, since it's the ground zero for your nutrition, it has to be clean and neat at all times. Once you have acquired this room, the rest of the house is going to be a piece of cake for you.

Some tips for this room would be to have a 'command center' compartment in the kitchen. Since you would be spending a lot of time in the kitchen anyway, it would be better to keep the schedules, phone diary and other to-do-lists in this command center in the kitchen. To make the everyday life schedules easier, add a white board in the kitchen on which you can make daily task lists. The bills and important papers should also go in the command compartment. To add a bit of fun, get different colored markets for each of the family member for classification of tasks. While you are setting up this command center, get rid of all the extra papers and used up stationery. That will be immensely helpful later. Also make rule for taking shoes off outside the house when your kids come back for a glass of juice after playing on the outdoor playground equipment. This will avoid the mud on the ground and keep your kitchen clean.

Next are the cleaning products, garbage bag and the fridge. All the spray bottles should go under the sink. If you are short on space, add a shelf or a hanging line or a tension rod for these bottles. A metal or plastic magazine holder inside the cabinet door in the kitchen would organize items like foil paper, tissues and plastic wraps etc. The refrigerator needs to be cleared of all the expired foods and stacked with baskets or small organizer equipment to separate your vegetables from meat and ice cream from the milk.

Now the bedroom

This room should be the second in line to be organized. Begin with your closet. The task that would probably take most of the time is to decide which clothes to keep and which to throw away or give away. The easiest way to do so is to pick up all the clothes you have not worn in the past two years and put them out. The clothes that do not fit anymore should also go. Once the clothes are decided, hang all your hangers on the same side. Once you have worn a dress, if you hang it again then hang it the opposite way. Once they are washed and come back then hang them in the first way again. That way your wardrobe will stay organized all year and you will not have to do it over and over again. This will also allow you to keep track of clothes that you are not using anymore and it will be easier for you to pat ways with them.

After closet come the sheets. Fold the top and bottom sheets and tuck them in the matching pillow cases for quick organizing. This will also take less space in your cupboards and avoid misplacement of a sheet of a cushion cover etc.

Then comes bathrooms' turn

Start with organizing your hair accessories and other stuff. There are super strong hooks available for hanging everything from hair dryers and curling irons to ponies and clips. For smaller items like tooth pastes and face scrubs you can also use trays. The baskets and bins under the cabinets should be the place for your towels and wash cloths. For smaller bathrooms, you can add shelves and install compartments to create space without having to clutter the whole area. Laundry baskets will take care of clothes and old shoe boxes will keep your rooms free from cords and extra wires.
